To think this should settle the matter? (PCN)

DH took DC to a newly opened soft play around a month ago. The soft play is within an establishment that also has bowling, pool, etc, but the 'main desk' for the soft play is entirely separate and on the other end of the building to the desk that serves the other activities. Apparently there is a sign and device on the general main desk that you are to put your vehicle registration into, but there's no device or sign at the soft play area. Subsequently, DH didn't know this was the procedure, didn't enter his reg and we've been hit with a PCN from ParkingEye.

AIBU to think if we provide evidence of attending on the date in question (bank statement) that this should cancel the PCN?

Did they not have any signs up in the car park about it? Normally they have a sign saying the land is owned by X Company etc.

You can try to appeal on that basis but if the car park signage is clear you may not succeed. I doubt you are alone though, have you asked the soft-play owner?

DH parked in the P&C parking space about 5m away from the doors, so didn't notice any. The place isn't in particularly close proximity to anywhere worth parking your car there for and walking to though, so it didn't cross his mind. If it was city centre kind of thing then that's of course different but this place is next to a Lidl and that's it.

Phone the place and ask them to cancel it - they usually can. My son got a ticket at the health club he works at for parking slightly outside of the white lines ( new driver ) and they cancelled it for him when he asked his boss nicely.

There's also a pub near me that has the sign in system and I was worried that my DH would get a ticket as he pulled into the car park and waited to collect me. I phone the pub when we got home and they said don't worry and if you get a ticket just send us the receipt for your meal and we'll get it cancelled.

Lidl is probably what prompted it. You need to check there were no signs where he parked.

Worth a shot. We once were dinged in a hotel for a similar reason. We had to call the hotel and they contacted the company and cancelled the fine. We did have to pay a small admin fee though (?£20).
Similarly, once our car failed to start on Lidl car park. When we eventually got it going, we were past the 2h limit and got served with a fine a week later. Called Lidl customer service and they kindly cancelled it for us.
Always worth a challenge.
