Son 21 graduated uni in September. He worked part-time jobs during uni and is taking a year out to work full time, save and return to uni next year for a Masters.
The job he currently has pays the same hourly rate as the job he had before he started his undergrad degree.
He has decided he is happy to give up employment to study a Masters if he can't reduce his hours to part-time.
I've suggested, if he is adamant he wants to study for a Masters, that he should retain a full-time job and study part-time, potentially on-line.
Bearing in mind, he doesn't even know what he wants to do career wise, only that he doesn't necessarily want to pursue a career in the field his current degree/experience would suit.
Am I unreasonable in advising he doesn't give up a full-time job, and instead focuses on "climbing the career ladder" by focusing on retaining employment?
