Tell me I'm BU - neighbour puts up exact same Xmas lights...

We have the same house, but mirror image. Our next door neighbours have put up the exact same Christmas lights as us in the exact same place, the day after ours went up.

Saw the old git earlier and he avoided me.

Tell me I'm being unreasonable!?

This scenario reminds me of an old Kardashian clip where two of the sisters where arguing over one of them copying their Christmas lights 😂✨

@ChateauMargaux I'm sure he would.

We've lived here 2 years and so far he's copied our shutter blinds, house number and gate and i'm not talking just similar, but the EXACT same, he's not been in our house much so I'm not sure he can copy that but from the outside our houses look identical, but I am flattered, I guess!

I used to live in a semi with a slightly older male neighbour next door, and we became best friends. Having the same lights outside both houses is something we would have done too. One year, he removed one of the 6ft wooden fence panels that ran between our back gardens and added hinges and turned it into a gate. We shared the patio area and had loads of parties and barbecues and met each others friends.

He later met someone and got married and they were still our best buddies. I have very fond memories of the 10+ years we lived next door to each other. 🥰

😂You knew a nice 'older' man once therefore no man over a certain age can ever be a git?

Okay, I've just turned nine on and 2 minutes later his have gone on (not that he was waiting or anything, it is getting dark after all) and his are strobing! The people opposite will love this 🤣

Well they obviously have no original ideas of their own and think you have excellent taste. However, I don't think I'd be letting them inside your house cos it could get seriously creepy.

You could always plant some pampas grass in the front garden or get a sign to hang up on the outside of your house that says "We ❤️ dogging" and see if they copy that.

But I assume he asked you before he removed the fence panels and replaced them with a gate!!

I'd love that. It bugs me that my neighbours haven't put up the same light as mine next to their front door, I want some symmetry!
