I love Elf on the Shelf

Everyone seems to moan about Elf on the Shelf - but please tell me I can't be the only person who loves it.

I love finding new things for the elves to do each night and that look on my child's face in the morning is priceless. I actually look forward to the elves arriving and feel sad when it's over.

I found an online 'chat to an elf' website and my kids faces when the elf replied saying he knew their elves Snowball and Unicorn. I actually cried - it was so magical.

How can anyone not like doing this? These moments are so precious. Please tell me I am not the only person who loves Elf on the Shelf.

Of course you’re not unreasonable to love it and you must know you’re not the only person who loves it by the fact it’s so popular and there are whole websites and instagram/ Pinterest/ TikTok etc accounts devoted to ideas.

You are being unreasonable to think that everybody should though or ask ‘how can anyone not like doing this?’ Surely you understand that different people like different things and that what is fun to one person might be another persons idea of hell. It’s bizarre you could get to adulthood and think that just because something is fun for you it must be fun for everybody.

I love Elf on the Shelf too. Ours doesn't go home though - he set up his own business over here a couple of years ago after getting fired from the toy workshop. He removes his hat and wears normal outfits most of the year.

I'm with you... I think it's fun but our elves are pretty low maintenance and hardly do anything other than hide around the house. So it's not that much work for me. Kids don't seem that bothered either. They've been hiding in the tree for 3 days now and each time the kids see them they shriek with delight.
