To wonder what this could be…

This might be long, but trying to give context. Short story is I’m waiting for a callback from 111 and wondering if I have been neglectful.
My 12yr old has stomach ache - which has been on and off for 3 weeks. We thought she had pulled a muscle playing netball, then she said it hurt when she did a wee - but no other cystitis symptoms. This then went away, but her stomach kept hurting.
She also has a dairy intolerance (and knows this but still chooses to have milk) and suffers from anxiety (which may or may not be relevant).
Anyway, this weekend she has been really uncomfortable, and has now started to be sick and is saying she feels ‘heavy’ down there. It also hurt again when she went for a wee. I’m waiting for a clinician to call but wondering if anyone has experience/ ideas:

  1. Build up of dairy causing pain? But doesn’t explain all symptoms.
  2. Period? She hasn’t started yet, pain is low down, but being sick?
  3. Grumbling appendix? Pain doesn’t seem to be in the right place. No fever, or diarrhoea. I know no-one can diagnose and I have sought/ am seeking medical attention. I just feel a bit of a shit mum today.

It could be any number of things - all that matters is that you are getting it checked out. You shouldn't feel bad - what else could you do? If you're thinking you should have gone to the doctor sooner - it's normal to give things like stomach ache a chance to resolve first, because usually they do resolve in a week or two.

I have no idea but I did have grumbling appendix myself at around the same age as your daughter. I had no sickness or fever with it, and the pain wasn't just in my right side. I had it in the right side and it also went across the bottom/lower pelvic area. One minute I'd be managing with just a dull ache, the next I'd be curled up in a ball unable to move and crying from the pain.
Whatever it is I hope she feels better soon x
