I hate snow

i don’t like walking or driving when it snows. My house is expensive to heat.

yes it looks pretty and the children love it but it’s just a pain in the arse

We have had just enough to be inconvenient to drive and travel in but not enough to stop school so I still need to drive and travel in it this car is the worst for slipping and I live up a fucking hill apparently the gritters have come up here but they haven't they never bloody do!

Devilsmommy · 03/12/2023 07:38

At least you've got a warm car to sit in. Try getting a bus with a buggy in the snow! Hopefully it pisses off soon😁

NegativNancy · 03/12/2023 07:40

Yeah I'm feing grumpy about it too. Recruiting at work tomorrow so no chance of wfh and I set up at 6:15am when it'll be fucking freezing and skiddy. Does look pretty but I cba!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 03/12/2023 07:49

I have a 160 mile drive to do today and I'm absolutely dreading it, hate driving in snow. I know once I get to the motorway it'll be fine but thats 12 miles away. Due to fly to Munich tomorrow which is currently closed due to snowfalls so keeping everything crossed the event I'm going to gets cancelled before I leave this evening.

Treaclesandwich · 03/12/2023 07:52

Sorry but I bloody love it. DD has always been too young to appreciate it so I hope we get a proper snowfall, at least for a couple of days.

I prefer snow to ice and freezing cold temperatures. That said, I appreciate it inconveniences many.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 03/12/2023 07:56

4WD, winter tyres, electric car which heats itself and defrosts on the drive - bring it on I say, let winter be winter.

Only issue is that UK snow is always sloppy wet crap. Never much crunchy frozen powder is there. Mr Whippy for us !

NearlyHeadlessNick · 03/12/2023 08:02

I'd be quite fine if I didn't have to drive the kids somewhat later. DS is excited by the snow but according to the weather forecast, there's 80% chance of rain in 2 hours so I'm hoping that'll get rid of it before I have to drive!

Toddlerteaplease · 03/12/2023 08:04

I'm supposed to be going to Liverpool today. It's motorway and main roads all the way. So should be fine. But wondering if it's a good idea.

PuttingDownRoots · 03/12/2023 08:13

DH has just sent me photos of his drive yesterday. He crossed the Alps in a transit van.

Kgha · 03/12/2023 08:16

I normally absolutely love snow, looks pretty, but I need it to defy the weather app and not come today or tomorrow, I have my driving test and don’t want it cancelled!

JaneKatSuttonGoals · 03/12/2023 08:17

Yabu-ish

  • Snow is fab - particularly the crisp white variety with blue sky & sunshine.
BUT We should have decent clothes, infrastructure & driving skills to cope with it in this country.
