Bifolds - internal blinds

We've had our bifolds with internal blinds just over a year but the blinds have started to stick and judder when opening. We can tilt them fine - but if we try to pull them completely up or down they judder and we have to force them. They're not running smoothly.
Just wondering if anyone else has them and had issues with internal blinds or if it's just us?
I'll obviously be contacting the company who installed them - but just wondered if this is a regular issue?

Try silicone spray/WD40 but not close to the blind if that makes sense.

Ours were fitted as part of a new extension & have been replaced 3 times since June ‘22, waiting on engineer for 4th time 🙄 urgh.

So annoying isn't it! They cost a bloody fortune so I'm quite annoyed. We have 6 sets of blinds, I can see we will probably need ours replacing too, but then I'm worried the same will happen again 🤨 curtains obviously were never an option as they are several metres long.

Yep definitely not cheap, and I keep breaking my nails on them 😂 so I’m double annoyed!!

The re-fits have been free, but still annoying as you have to be home/work around person doing the work etc.

Like you say, not many other options for a big expanse. Think I’ve seen electric roller blinds over older windows?

I’m really confused, when you say internal blinds what do you mean? I have bifolds (3 sets) in my kitchen and all have internal blinds. This means they are between the double glazing, so they are inside the glass and you can’t touch them. They are operated by a magnetic pulley.

i can’t understand how you can spray them as they are not accessible.

It's the plastic bit at the side which you use to push the blinds up and down that's juddering. I'm literally having to force them.

Try furniture polish it works for stuck zips

calamariqueen · 03/12/2023 12:31

If they’re magnetic like mine are then you’ll need the engineer to come back ☹️
