They’re asking for a reason - right?

If youre having a conversation (text) with someone and you’re mid chat and they suddenly just type, ‘I hope you’re ok xx’

You reply, ‘I’m good! Why do you ask?’

Then they say, ‘no special reason xx’

There is a special reason, isn’t there? 😂 could be overthinking but would you think they’re asking as they think I might not be, from something I’ve previously said or how I was coming across? I was and am fine but don’t know how to tell them without seeming defensive now.

They were probably just having two text conversations at once.

pick up phone
call them

“thanks for asking after me, means a lot, but any reason why you asked?”

They are either responding to something you've sad that made it sound like you're a bit fed up, or they were having two conversations at once and put that line on the wrong one.

My friend does this. She has alot of health issues and family issues. I think she worries the conversations are are more about her (which is fine she needs the support) and wants to make sure I'm OK too.
