To hand out packets of tissues - mostly lighthearted

I know noses can run in the cold, mine does whenever I'm out for a walk - but I always bring tissues.

I'm in the cinema waiting for a film to start and the woman a seat over from us is constantly sniffing - WIBU to starting lobbing packs of tissues at anyone who sniffs for longer than a few minutes. She had plenty of time to go to the in screen loos to get tissue btw

Oh I hate this! You have my sympathies. You could offer her a tissue in a really kind way and see if she accepts.

Does she have popcorn? She could bung a couple of bits up her nose to plug it.

I go nowhere without tissues/hankies because my stupid nose likes to run near fking constantly.

I offered somebody a tissue. She looked like she really needed one, and it was offered in that spirit - I’m sure we’ve all been caught out before and desperately wished we had one.

Got the filthiest look back! Never offered anyone since.

Good idea OP.

I need to do the same on my daily commute.

People are happy to spend £1000s on train tickets per year, yet it seems a pack of tissues is an unaffordable luxury good. Sometimes it's in fucking stereo, sniff sniff sniff all the way to work.

I’d lob it back I’m afraid. I have sinus issues, no amount of blowing will do anything other than irritate the shit out of my nose. I get the urge to sniff, no snots but noise. I try not to sniff a lot as it doesn’t do anything anyway, the urge is just there. Believe me it’s 100% more irritating to have to deal with it.

I mainly avoid going anywhere for reactions like this

I am ashamed to say that when I took the A level Business Studies exam as a mature student and the teenage student in front of me was sniffing constantly, I did beckon the invigilator over and ask him to pass a packet of tissues to him.
I know it was insensitive and the poor boy probably couldn't help it, but it was really putting me off! And I'm autistic (not a get out of jail free card).
