Not at all, I'm very good friends with a woman 20 years younger than me. No one bat's an eyelid!

It might be that they turn out to be too immature or different life stages to you when you chat to them, but there's very few years between you, so you might have loads in common.

Exactly what is it you think is 'odd' about it? Quite apart from the fact that these aren't friendships, or anywhere near it -- these are people with whom you share interests on an app, but with whom you haven't even exchanged messages yet?

I'm 41 and one of my close friends is a 53 year old bloke. We get on well and trust and care about one another. Don't really care if other people think It's odd to be honest. I'd not find it odd to see a 20 something person being friends with an 18 or 19 year old.

M friendship group runs from 23 to 76 year olds. I'm 55. When I was your age the main group were 17 to 32. We were all adults, not a problem.

Nothing odd about being friends with someone with similar interests or similar sense of humour to yourself, whatever their age.
I have plenty of friends who are 20 yrs plus older than me, and others that are a lot younger.

I met my best friend of 20 years at work when I was 19 - she was 27 at the time. We had loads in common and enjoyed each others company.
