Chocolate heaven ... what would yours be? Trying to choose one high quality box for Christmas....

Just that really... I would like to buy one really good box of chocolates to share with my husband and daughter (and the occasional honoured guest) over Christmas... pralines are our favourites, so probably just those.

Chocolates for relishing, for truly appreciating each one... I currently have my eye on Neuhaus "Les Trésors de Neuhaus" Pralines - 30 Pieces £45.00

But havent had Neuhaus before - are they really good??

And there will be other chocolates around for just sharing with the crowds - the usual Lindt, Hotel Chocolat, After 8s, Toblerone and anything else nostalgic.

What is your chocolate heaven? What are you going to indulge in?? Which are your favourite pralines?

Mine would be Fortnum and Mason champagne truffle bar to not share at all but they do boxes of truffles that my mum loves. Anything that looks suitably decadent in terms of packaging and presentation as well as taste would be my choice. I don't like praline but Fortnum's do some lovely looking ones and the boxes are lovely.
I'm mainly here to live vicariously so thank you for the thread.

Neuhaus are lovely, probably my current favourites since Paul A Young apparently ceased trading.

These are local to us and I think have just won an award. I'm sure if you contact them they would make you up a box of pralines (they do in store) www.thechocolatebarltd.co.uk/about-us/

Audrey's chocolates in Hove supply Fortnums - if you order a box online, you can pick the chocolates you like to go in it as well. Gorgeous, proper chocolates.

Ok... so mine (and DH's, for that matter) is a bit niche, but chocolate covered liquorice: lakridsbybulow.co.uk/shop/chocolate-coated-liquorice?gclid=CjwKCAiApaarBhB7EiwAYiMwqhbebf1KOEZZMC9ud2Hy2MqDMav7WYsqV168OMyn_uXp4XJeFuwjOxoCEfsQAvD_BwE

Having given a lot of thought to this, my go to is the Irish brand Butlers. Not crazy prices but an excellent product.

Monty Bojangles Truffle Trunk.

Saltysalter · 01/12/2023 12:26

A booja booja selection box. Don’t be put off by the fact the vegan because you would heonstly never guess (non vegan here). Best chocolate!

ChocolateCinderToffee · 01/12/2023 12:29

Waitrose no. 1. Truly excellent.

loveyouradvice · 01/12/2023 13:53

Mmmm... yum!! I am salivating....

Yes love booja booja and Rococo but fancy trying something different

I can't walk past a Leonidas without buying a small bag (or more!!).... luckily not one on my normal routes, though I have been known to cross the road to avoid the temptation...

Now peacefully off to investigate the other suggestions... Great way to indulge in vicarious chocolates while recovering from flu!

Audreys. Have just ordered a big box of dark chocolate pineapple fondants which sounds so wrong but they're delicious. Their coffee creams are amazing too

TheWayOfTheWorld · 01/12/2023 14:02

I ordered a box of See's Candies nuts and chews - cost me a fortune in import fees but totally worth it Grin

Shortbread49 · 01/12/2023 14:32

Marks and Spencer Belgian chocolate truffles in the bronze box are lovely

bellac11 · 01/12/2023 14:34

I thought I read that these Audrey's chocolates dont have very high cocoa content, Ive never had them though

Shortbread49 · 01/12/2023 14:36

Braemar chocolate shop small handmade chocolatier delicious ( but not the port and blue cheese one but that might just be me )

Comefromaway · 01/12/2023 14:43

Neuhaus are bloody gorgous. I've only ever had a couple of individual chocolates bought from their Covent Garden shop but they are soooo good.

Also Venchi are pretty fantastic too.

Comefromaway · 01/12/2023 14:46

For me

Pralines (Neuhaus for luxury, Leonidas for everyday ish)

Pistachio creme (Venchi for luxure, Hotel chocolat for everyday)

Nuts - Lladerach

backtowinter · 01/12/2023 14:48

Neuhaus are my absolute favourites. Well worth the cost

peachgreen · 01/12/2023 14:58

Charbonnel et Walker Pink Marc De Champagne Truffles are my absolute favourites. I'm quite relieved they're so expensive, to be honest, otherwise I'd be constantly buying them.

therealcookiemonster · 01/12/2023 15:05

godiva...

Comefromaway · 01/12/2023 15:17

I find charbonnel et Walker a bit meh. But I love a praline and am not much for champagne truffles.

Pr0fessionalLurker · 01/12/2023 15:37

Audrey and Charbonnel both use palm oil

FinallyHere · 01/12/2023 15:54

Real chocolate makers, they buy in cocoa beans conch and refine them to truly make their own chocolate. rather than buy in pure chocolate as chocolatiers do.

They can control the quality of the raw product and produce more intense flavours as part of that process rather than adding the flavours afterwards.

Such imagination, too.
