Currently looking at my 7 month old who has been up since 4.30 and having a party for one in her cot. Rolling around, holding her feet and doing lots of happy screeching to make sure we all know SHE’S AWAKE.

Can’t wait for my two year old to wake up in about 10 minutes full of rage because he’s two and start demanding things for breakfast. We had birthday cake at the weekend so for the past few mornings we have had demands for “CAKE” for breakfast. I’m having to go through an elaborate role play of sitting a toy monkey at the table and pretending monkey wants a banana so my two year old wants to help feed monkey and eventually eats his banana and hopefully forgets about “CAKE” for at least 10 minutes.

All this before 6.30am every morning and some days I really question my life choices 😅 Anyone else?

It's 100% the cuteness my daughter has this little look she does when she knows she doing something she shouldn't be and I say no and she just gives me the look and I'm like ok fine you take everything off the Xmas tree, have fun don't worry mummy will clean it up ❤️

And I could have been convinced for a 4th in those first few blissful months….. thankfully saw sense.

Last night I put the lovely, freshly washed and ironed Christmas sheets on my 3 children's beds. My 2 year old leaked the nappy. Somehow all over the bed including the pillow. Why do we do all these lovely things 😭

Your post is why I didn't have my two close together - I realise it gets it all over and done with quicker but I just couldn't have coped with two under two. As for anyone who has more, particularly close together, I admire them their ability to cope, but I think they're stark, raving mad!

This made me laugh. I have a 4am waker as well, and oh my god the role playing and acting just to get them to do something! And the mind games to outwit them! It's exhausting.

What's funny though, is if I'd seen this thread before I was a parent I'd have thought it all genuinely sounded shit and why do people do it. But reading other's posts, now on a parent, I see that even behind the frustration there's an underlying smile and happiness because we know that the love we have for them and the joy they bring to our lives is absolutely worth it.

Even though I did come close to putting her in the bin last night.
