Just received this from our childminder. Do you think it's a suitable response to a bumped head?

Hi. Pedro has tripped and bumped his head on the bookcase. He’s got a right little mark. He’s fine and I’ll keep an extra eye on him but obviously with it being a head bump I needed to let you know xx

Yes totally fine

Treaclesandwich · 29/11/2023 09:36

Yes, fine. Means I’m not wondering why he has a mark on his head and to keep an eye on it.

Tetchypants · 29/11/2023 09:36

Yes. What else would you have expected?

PullUpPrince · 29/11/2023 09:36

Yes.

KatBurglar · 29/11/2023 09:36

Yes, fine

LittleMissNaice · 29/11/2023 09:36

Yes, that's fine. What were you expecting?

bumblebee1987 · 29/11/2023 09:36

Yes, I'm not sure what else you would be expecting?

KateLawsonDidIt · 29/11/2023 09:37

Poor pedro

DuploTrain · 29/11/2023 09:37

Yes that’s the kind of thing I would expect.

Groovee · 29/11/2023 09:37

I'd normally phone for a head bump at work and if really bad ask for them to be collected and checked or call an ambull l mace if required.

What would you expect?

VickyEadieofThigh · 29/11/2023 09:38

Absolutely fine. I don't know what else you'd expect.

JamieKnows · 29/11/2023 09:38

Aw pedro

CattingAbout · 29/11/2023 09:41

Not quite sure what to make of "right little mark" as a description, but beyond that it's fine. Childminder has let you know. Presumably you can call back for more info if concerned.

tennesseewhiskey1 · 29/11/2023 09:41

Of course it’s fine - what were you expecting?

Mumof2teens79 · 29/11/2023 09:42

Yes very happy
I was called to collect multiple times after head bumps - usually within minutes and they were perfectly fine but the policy at the time was to send them home.
A couple of times for more serious ones we went to A&E....they just sit you in the waiting room and after exactly 3 hours a Dr sees you and if child is still OK you get sent home.

Sirzy · 29/11/2023 09:45

Don’t see any problem at all. It’s letting you know without making a fuss where not needed

Aaron95 · 29/11/2023 09:45

Seems like a very reasonable reponse to me. They are making you are aware and reassuring you that they will be keeping an eye on him as well.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 29/11/2023 09:47

Seems like the ones I get all the time.

saraclara · 29/11/2023 09:50

Absolutely normal and fine. Which bit of it is bothering you?

‘Hi childminder. Thanks for letting me know. These things happen! If you’re at all worried about him, give me a call and I’ll pick him up. Pedro’s Mum x’

ManateeFair · 29/11/2023 10:10

Why wouldn't you be happy with that message? Seems like the correct thing to do/say if a kid has bumped its head.

ColleenDonaghy · 29/11/2023 10:11

Yes absolutely fine, I have two very clumsy small children and get a lot of these messages.

When they're worried I tend to get a phonecall.

DuckDuckGoose23 · 29/11/2023 10:18

Totally fine, both my toddlers have had dozens of similar notes from nursery (my favourite was ‘Baby goose was trying to look at a butterfly and fell in the bush, he has a small scratch on his ear. First aid: we washed the scratch’)
If it’s anything serious they’ll call you and/or seek urgent medical attention.

BadBadDecisions · 29/11/2023 10:27

Yes it's completely fine

wineoclock90 · 29/11/2023 10:28
