So confused. Year long Reno. Thought dp had this in hand so didn’t pay much attention.

Finally moved into living room and just sat down and just about to order the Samsung frame tv which I planned this whole room around.

Many issues

  • It’s entirely wrong cables
  • Looks way to high.
  • Have no one to talk to about it as electrician no longer here and dp thinks I am pointing out problems bless him.

What options do we have here?

  • Can you pull cables into the bat boxes and put a flush facing plate and basically pretend this never happened?
  • As above and potentially even plaster over if it’s too high?
  • Some how drag the correct cable through? Potentially by sacrificing the hdmi?
  • Something else genius?

Thank you 🙏

Bit more info needed.

What cables were you expecting?

Also, what height are you mounting the TV at? Will it not hide the sockets etc.?

Depending on how the cables are routed you may be able to use them to pull correct ones in.

Blank plates painted same colour as wall can help hide these. If you decide to plaster over, please get it done properly.

Otherwise, can you 'bite the bullet' now before the job is finished and get the sockets etc. move down and replaster over the chases?

Thanks billyt!

For a Samsung frame tv it mounts flush to the wall so everything needs to be recessed. There’s lots of different options of giant recess bat boxes and what you put in those but none are anything like what we have.

Essentially the power is not required direct to the tv. Only one tiny cable that goes to the connect box.

When you say this what do you mean? Do you have to remove all the cables etc and completely decommission everything before plastering over.

Absolutely not chasing anymore. Everything else is now finished this side of the house and it’s solid brick. We also have a toddler. No way am I going back to brick dust stage!!!

Thanks for any advice.
