Delivery left on front proch... for over 2 hours!

Amazon at it again.

I live in a dodgy area, on a publically accessible road, with enough foot traffic for there to be a worry, but not enough for there to be a constant stream of oversight of my house iyswim.

Amazon delivered today. To my front porch, in plain sight of everyone passing, despite there being instructions that if I'm not there it needs to be dropped into the back garden, out of sight. And left.

Not only could the Christmas gifts for my children have been stolen (one was not even packaged properly, so it was easy to see what it was). It would also have been obvious to anyone else that I wasn't at home at the time.

Why not
-leave it in my safe place
-drop if off at a neighbour's?

AIBU? No complaints procedure that I can see, the thumbs-down button just gets me back to my orders.

This happened to us a few years ago with amazon. My husband complained as goods could have been stolen. They sent a repeat of the order, even though he had said we received them.

We didn't send the second one back though as couldn't be bothered with the hassle and it was there mistake 😕.

My Amazon deliveries are like "knock a door run" by the time I open the door he's back in the van shouting "it's on the doorstep !"

That’s not necessary because they are told what the safe space is and all they have to do is use it. If it’s announced over a doorbell that’s less safe as passers by can hear

I had them leave a huge box on front porch under my doormat.... thanks amazon that really helped hide the parcel that was there!!!

You'd think people employ some common sense...

Anyway, no luck yet with customer service. I'll just have to hope that any potential subsequent deliveries are left where they should have been.

Go online through their chat facility. I've had problems with people ignoring my extra instructions and since I complained I haven't had a problem

They dumped a duvet and pillows on my doorstep in the rain. Claimed it had been left with neighbours but when I got back it was out in the street getting wet. Nutters.
