To want revenge on my neighbours?

For deciding to have a loud party until 2am? Not the first time. One of the other neighbours must have called the council or something as somebody turned up to tell them to keep it down (I couldn't quite see who, didn't look like a police car).

Cul de sac of ten houses. Wasn't so much the music as the large amount of people spilling from their front door, shouting and swearing in the street until gone 2. My bedroom faces the front.

I'd quite like to find a way of waking them up now, without waking my other neighbours who are probably also knackered.

AIBU? And... any suggestions? Without getting myself into trouble.

I always get the problem neighbours. If you feel they won't be understanding, if you was to try to talk to them, then I can recommend bouncing a ball against their bedroom wall once every twenty minutes. I had a neighbour do this to me after my family had been suffering them for 3.5 years of nightly only giving us a window of 5 hours sleep. Every night. I became ill with the stress and exhaustion and so did my daughter. She, the noisy noeighbour, then bounced a ball and didnt let me sleep because I finally got her evicted for banging drums for 3 hours first thing every morning singing her head off and her partner slammed doors all day and night till gone midnight. Total sad gits. They had a baby but didn't care about losing their home. Dominating idiots. We then had 6 months no noisy neighbours afterwards whilst the property was being sold then a lovely normal family moved in. Thank god! Don't waste your time with noise at the council. It has to be disco tech noise level blasting out for hours. I would recommend environmental health if you need to get help through the council. Good luck with it.

Play baby screaming noises near the wall.

Yes, agree best to rise above and talk to them.. Although if the house is directly attached to your property and your child fancies learning a musical instrument.. Say a recorder.. I wouldn't discourage them.. 😂

Out of interest for a ‘friend. ‘

which is the most annoying instrument a child can be encouraged to learn?

a lot are suggesting a recorder, but I would have gone with drums or viola.

Ring their doorbell

Can of compressed air and a McDonald's straw filled with glitter. Insert straw through letterbox, press compressed air. They'll be hoovering for weeks. Repeat every time they leave the house until you feel the punishment fits the crime.

We had students next door who played the guitar late at night, parties every weekend and a general noise nuisance.
Council, letting agent and direct complaints didn't help.
So my landlord tied a small radio to the end of a broomstick and positioned it outside their bedroom window at 4am.
Close enough to wreck havoc but at an angle their windows opened towards, so they couldn't reach it.
Pettiness as I'd never encountered before and it worked.
They moved not long after.

I love this level of revenge Grin
