I'm in my 50s. Have sons in their 20s. Step gss primary age. So it's not just for me is it? They'll probably get a go? Mil is in her 80s and here Christmas day she'll probably have a go? Oh just realised don't you have to be a certain age? Might have to hide it when gss are here.

Haven't mentioned it to dh. Probably won't I'll just get it out of my own money? He's definitely spent at least that on telescopes etc.

Or am I mad? Has seeing the girl learn the piano seduced me.

I'm in my 50s and have a Quest 2 and would love a Quest 3. Go for it!

Oh fab. What do you do with it? I've never been into video gaming. Except Tetris on PS1 😂

AhBiscuits · 25/11/2023 14:38

If you want it then get it, yanbu.
I don't hesitate to spend on things that I know will bring me joy.

JumpingDizzy · 25/11/2023 14:46

You've all convinced me 😂

Dss will be so happy. Dh not so. Pah.

Do it. It's the best thing DS ever spent his money on Grin (he's got the quest2)

mrwalkensir · 25/11/2023 15:29

Beat Sabre and the crazy golf are fabulous

Beat Saber for exercise, Tripp for meditation, Wander to see the world. I don't really game much but there's lots to do. I also like watching movies in it sometimes when I'm watching by myself. Oh and Racket Nx is fun to play against DH (we have one each!).

XenoBitch · 25/11/2023 15:43

My mum has a quest 2 and is in her 60s. She loves it, and bought one after using mine. Beat Saber got her hooked.

Just get one, I promise you wont regret it.

If your computer is up to it and the device is compatible give MS Flight Simulator 2020 a go, you'll either be sick or will never want to leave it.

JumpingDizzy · 25/11/2023 15:47

I need to exercise more so if it's good for that even better.

Dh said how will I learn the piano as we haven't got one? We've got a keyboard in the loft.

If it has a flight simulator dh will be on that. Maybe he'll go halves 😉

There are various exercise apps available. I use FitXR. It has tons of classes, with new ones daily.

mrwalkensir · 25/11/2023 16:01

Also you can play games with other people. Our relatives often "meet up" for crazy golf and a chat!

JumpingDizzy · 25/11/2023 17:39

So when I buy it do I have to buy games or will it come with some? It'll be more the exercise ones I'll want.

How old is step gss? DS used ours from 7 but we were very strict on only 20mins at a time, and watching him to make sure he didn't move around.

Beat Sabre is excellent. We also liked The Room.

funbags3 · 25/11/2023 17:57

@JumpingDizzy There are lots of free apps you can try as well as games you buy through the app.

funbags3 · 25/11/2023 18:00

I tried Galapagos with David Attenborough, yesterday. That was loads of fun. Also downloaded the piano game. I think it was £7, so quite cheap.

msmatcha · 25/11/2023 18:07

My 11yo old has one and I'm quite jealous. Might ask for one for my birthday as I'd like it for exercise and exploring places and climbing mountains. I'm in my 50s.

TiptoeThroughTheToadstools · 25/11/2023 18:13

I'm 40, I got my son a quest 2 last Christmas I can't even be on it in the main menu without feeling sea sick 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

JumpingDizzy · 25/11/2023 18:39

@EilonwyWithRedGoldHair youngest is 7.

Oh I'm getting it. I told dh he said I never get myself much and go for it. I have splurged in York recently but this is a bigger amount.

I am also in my 50s and have loved my Meta 2. Sold it on ebay and upgrading.
I cannot wait. Love beat Sabre, holofit and lots of others.

One to def try for mix of relaxation and adrenalin is Realvr fishing. It is addictive but just amazing.
I know absolutely nothing about fishing in real life and if honest would not be great with catching a real one etc.
But in vr on a beach in Hawaii or various other USA,Japan locations it a perfect game.

I tried a few restaurant type games but some made me feel dizzy and others I got bored.
