Concerns re nursery

Hi all. I don’t know if I’m being paranoid or am right to be worried.

we have a two year old in nursery. He is quite boisterous and has no fear whatsoever.

However in the last year there have been a lot of accidents. In the last 3 months I’ve had to sign off about ten accident forms ranging from other kids biting him falling off a bike and running into cupboards.

it has got worse this week and for the three days he is in there has been an incident everyday. One day he got a bad scratch that they didn’t know how he did it. The second day he got a bump to the face as he fell into a cupboard and today we had to take him to a&e as he hit his head jumping and split it which required gluing.

AIBU that this seems a lot of accidents and that I should perhaps look at moving him elsewhere or is this just toddler behaviour and the nursery are doing their best.

any advice/thought would be welcome- be kind!

Unfortunately 2 year olds fall over a fair bit. Unless you think they are somehow being negligent? Maybe have a word with the nursery manager and see if they make you feel happier?

Hard to say really. I would be less concerned about an injury like him jumping up and bumping his head because that's really not preventable. None of the staff could have predicted that he'd do it iyswim.

Being scratched or hurt by another kid, I guess they should have intervened sooner to stop that but again, these things happen very quickly in childcare settings and they can't always have eyes in the back of their head while dealing with so many kids.

I would be upset with so many injuries in such a short space of time too, I'm just not sure it's something you can pin blame on.

Thanks both. I don’t have any friends with children in nursery so nice to hear this feedback from impartial people!

I dont think they are a negligent nursery I do however think the ratios are all wrong but that’s set by the government not them so not much they can do.

I’ve emailed the manager with my concerns. I’m just all new to this so handy to know others experience
