I was sent to hospital this morning by my optician to see an eye specialist, I have a viral infection in my fecking eye, its fecking painful, I got hit for £20 worth of prescriptions which I had to wait a bloody hour for, I have had to navigate around the hospital unable to see and keep my eyes open. Its the worst pain I have ever been in. I would sob, if it didn't hurt so much.

It hurts to have my eye open, it hurts to keep it closed. I have to take a total of twelve drops of liquid and two drops of cream (cream in my eye for Gawds sake!!) a day for 14 days.

I am feeling sorry for myself. Tomorrow I am back at work and people are going to be complaining about their snotty noses and I'm going to explode in a pain-drop-cream-eyed mess.

Rant over. Sob. Owwwwww.

I feel like a fraud for not going in today (I turned up at work unable to keep my eyes open thinking it would sort itself out!).
Am hoping all the creams and drops kick in shortly.

My husband didn't take his phone to work today either so all my text messages of woe have not reached him yet, and my mums at work so I cant ring her for a moan

how can you work if you can't see?????????

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 12/03/2008 17:40

I started to be able to keep my eye open this afternoon, its still painful but at least it is open.

I feel really sorry for you. I had a bad eye infection over christmas and couldn't see and it hurt constantly. Can you maybe take another day off work. Give it a bit of time to rest. If it's anything like mine you won't like the bright lights most offices and work spaces have.

On a good note, once I got my meds, it only took a few days for it to clear up.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 12/03/2008 17:54

oooh, that's good, if it clears up in a few days.
I have to go back next Wed to see the consultant, and I have had a month contact lense ban imposed on me!

I might think about doing just the afternoon tomorrow, just go through some paperwork. Its coming up to year end, and getting very hetic!

and I'm supposed to be studying tonight, that will teach me to skive off on a Tuesday to watch CSI instead of learning about corporation tax!
