Is this broken?

I didn’t know where to post this but I will shoehorn an AIBU in and hopefully someone will be able to help :)

Does anyone have one of these beautiful wooden petal/ marble run toys?

We received one as a gift. Not this specific brand - I’m not sure where exactly it is from but I think probably Etsy from a small company.

Anyway, the petals slot into the main trunk but there is no glue and they can come out very easily. The slightest/ lightest knock and they can get nudged out of place. You could accidentally tap one whilst fixing the adjacent one into place.

I love the toy, it’s beautiful, but it just isn’t working well. It lives on a shelf now as it just didn’t stay together!

So:
YABU - it’s supposed to be like that because…

YANBU - it sounds like that is broken / poor quality and maybe I should add a dab of wood glue to each petal and stick it all together

Just get some wood glue and glue it together, I doubt the intention is for it to come apart like that.

If you drop marbles down it does it fall apart or have you never got it that far?

I'd be worried if you glued them then it might not sound right

you can put marbles down it without the petals coming off but if a petal is slightly out of alignment, the ball may just fall off altogether and land outside of the base.

you might have a point about glue altering the lovely sounds it makes. Hmm not sure what to do…

any other ideas/ suggestions gratefully received:)
