Flu jab side effects

Trying to work out if I should get the flu jab this year, early 40s, I’ve had it the last couple of years but this year there seems to be less availability. Sounds silly but I’m a bit worried about the side effects, work is really busy at the moment I can’t really afford to be off with side effects and there are a few busy weekends coming up. If you’ve had it this year have you had side effects?

Apart from the sore arm, didn't notice anything this year.

Thank you everyone, still finding it hard to get an appointment.

I had mine three weeks ago. Like you I was struggling to get an appointment and I just happened to be in Boots at the pharmacy (getting something totally unrelated) when the pharmacist asked if anyone was here for a flu jab, I explained my situation and 15mins later I was all done. She said all Boots stores do walk ins so might worth checking.

On the day I had my jab DP had had a stinking cold for a week but I’d been fine. That evening I started to feel awful - definitely cold symptoms than flu but it’s still hanging on me now. Not sure if the vaccine tipped my immune system over the edge fighting the vaccine as well as DP’s cold. Next year I’ll try and get it done in Sept.

Does anyone know if it’s ok to have it if you are feeling a bit under the weather / coldy?

Fine as long as you don’t have a temperature.
