I bruise easily have been bruising pretty easy for a few months mostly on my legs yesterday I helped my sister move a unit, I didn't noticeably bang myself but I've gathered that it has to be the reason for this bruising, my mum is panicking telling me to call the doctors, but it's just a bruise.. it will heal.. is she being dramatic or and I being stubborn🤔

I don't know much about bruising but that doesn't look normal and I'd be seeking medical advice

Afteropening · 15/11/2023 15:28

when you bruise, does it always look like this?

Definitely see a doctor. It might be nothing but could be a symptom of something more serious and a simple blood test can tell you.

Radiat · 15/11/2023 15:34

Honestly, I’m absolutely not one to go to the GP if I can avoid it, but I’d be wanting them to have a look at that. It’s extreme bruising, especially when you don’t remember bumping it badly at the time.

Afteropening · 15/11/2023 15:35

what made you take the photos of the bruising 3 weeks again if you weren’t concerned?

iloveherons · 15/11/2023 15:36

yes, see a GP, It's probably harmless but some conditions causing excessive bruising are very serious.

I did yes I went to a&e and the doctor said all the bruising was healing nicely at at the time because I didn't have any fresh bruising he wasn't concerned

does your mother know an doctor has seen it much worse than this - and the doctor said not a problem?

Afteropening · 15/11/2023 15:40

what on earth did you do to get dozens of little bruises on your thigh?

Luxell934 · 15/11/2023 15:40

No it’s not normal and you definitely want to see a GP and get some blood tests done. Most likely a harmless reason, some medications can cause bruising like this but better to be safe and get it checked .

Yes she's knows, I think she's concerned because there's never a time I'm not covered in bruises, the lots of little ones where unexplained that's why I took myself to a&e, doctor recons that sometimes these things happen and that was it

i’m curious how you got dozens of little bruises on your upper thigh. i just can’t work out what could have happened to cause this?!

ah so a bit more

you have been getting entirely unexplained bruising?

Well if that is the case, and i was your mother, then i would urge you to see a GP but i certainly wouldn’t be panicking about it

Orarewedancer · 15/11/2023 15:52

Definitely worth a trip to the GP for some bloods. I have always bruised easily but when I was breastfeeding my eldest my legs were constantly covered in bruises like in your second photo. I went to the GP who sent off a whole load of blood tests that came back normal and it was put down to being unexplained. Even now that I'm not breastfeeding I constantly have random bruises on my legs, and if I notice myself bumping into something I just know a massive bruise will form in the next day or so.

Point being, could be something, could be nothing - get it checked!!

UseOfWeapons · 15/11/2023 16:36

I'd see your GP, you'd need a blood test to rule out some conditions that could cause you to bruise or bleed more easily. Did you have bloods done in A & E?
