Inspired by the thread about milder vs cooler

If you are stood facing another person and they have something on their left cheek, where would you point on your own face to indicate this?

A. "Exact" - You point to your own left cheek, as the mark is on that part of their body
B. "Mirror Image" - You point to your right cheek, as if you were their reflection in a mirror

Whilst we have come to a strained cease-fire, the above has been very hotly debated between DP and I, and regularly causes confusion (and highlights how often I have muck on my face)

A kind way of putting it would be that DP has limited spatial awareness or proprioception. An accurate way of putting it would be reverse ambidexterity (generally crap with either hand), combined with the ability to get lost between the fridge and the sink if he doesn't cook every night and a 100% success rate in getting locations wrong.

Conversations used to be 'Where's....?'

'In the left hand cupboard on the left. Your left. Your other left. The one you write with. No, that's your right, you want your left. Fretting hand. Put your fretting hand on the cupboard door on the same side. THAT'S THE BATHROOM DOOR. AND YOUR RIGHT HAND. Fuck's sake - STAND STILL <takes hand> follow me. This is your left hand. It is on your left. This is the cupboard on your left. Open the cupboard door. KEEP USING YOUR LEFT HAND. There it is. See - on the left?'

These days, I cut out the chaff and just go straight to 'Fretting hand. Nose height.' if it's a good day and get up, walk to the kitchen and point him at whatever it is the rest of the time.

I can eyeball spaces to a 2mm tolerance and have a detailed three dimensional image of both the physical world and my thoughts at all times. He, however, makes it quite clear every day why he was strongly encouraged to pick History rather than Geography for GCSE.

In the OP's situation, I would have to put his hand on the dirt, as even physically pointing at it two inches away would lead to him putting his hand up to touch mine.

I'm astounded this is even a debate.
It's clearly mirror image 😨

I always point to the correct cheek and the other person always wipes the wrong side! So it's only effective to point to the mirror side. I would personally wipe the correct cheek but I think I'm very minority on this because I've never met anyone else who does.

Always mirror. It's the natural way humans work, right?

This is so interesting. I'm now wondering if it goes alongside any other traits? Are you right handed? Are you unusually good at rotatong things in your head? 😆
