Deleted from social media

my two friends who grew close to each other deleted me from insta (both at the same time). Wasn’t close to both tbh but we did meet up every now and then. I’ve had a lot going on and we did have a group chat where I had said this. One of them didn’t bother to ask what was going on. The other did but now both have deleted me. We’re in our early 30s. I’m not bothered tbh but wondering why that was necessary. I know they were meeting up a lot and had more in common and going to places that weren’t my cup of tea but still feel like this pettiness was unnecessary. I’ve ignored it

You’re right to ignore it.

They sound like fair weather friends who ran away at the first sign of you needing a supportive shoulder.

I hope you have other friends to concentrate on. No doubt this pair will stop being friends at some point, don’t let them weedle their way back in once that happened.

So you are not bothered but you are bothered? just ignore it and move on

Hotchocolatemousse · 14/11/2023 04:32

Block them so they can't contact you again and move on. Enjoy your life without fake friends.

PearTreeBoat · 14/11/2023 05:05

Do they post a lot on Insta of their nights out etc?

Just to play devils advocate, is it possible that they deleted you so as not to feel like they ae rubbing your nose in it posting constant pictures of nights out/day trips etc when you have a lot going on and aren't able to join them?

wokbun · 14/11/2023 06:08

Maybe they just had a social media cull. If you don't join them on nights out etc perhaps they get up to dodgy shit and don't want everyone to know so keep it private.
