How old is too old for ttc baby #3?

Id love another child, but can’t realistically ttc for another 6/7 months due my company Mat
policy but I’m a bit concerned about leaving it too late.

how old is too old for number 3?

I’ve always heard the 35 as the falling off a cliff age, I know it’s not strictly true but I do have pcos (but for me that just tends to mean long cycles) hence high ovarian reserve. But I think that has impacted me

Apparently the concept that fertility (which is perpetually declining from birth) declines more steeply from around 35 is too complicated for many many people; so it is translated as a cliff. It is not a cliff.

The NHS fertility page stated - not sure that it still does - that 90% of women 39 and under will fall pregnant within 2 years of TTC.

This was challenged by the 35 cliff people on here with "how many stay pregnant though??!!". At 39 and under, the majority, is the answer.

The vast vast majority of women in my antenatal class were mid 30s or older. Id imagine that's not unusual.

Pcos is thought to cause issues when younger but actually less so when older. Hence some women with pcos are told dire things about their fertility and chances of having kids, oy to fall pregnant in their late 30s etc. I know one who was told she would never have kids and the consultant wanted to schedule a hysterectomy.... She had two kids at 39 and 40.
