Awaiting fit test results then likely to be referred for colonoscopy. Suffering with constipation for a while and feeling like there is some kind of blockage, doctor has examined and done full bloods both were fine. Given treatment for constipation which worked but resulted in quite severe diarhea, some weight loss but this could be down to having to go to the toilet more. Trying not to google and think the worse but not great with health anxiety so it’s hard not to worry. If fit test comes back positive is there anything else it could be other than the dreaded? Late 40s and on good health normally, don’t smoke and hardly drink if it makes any difference. I know no one can diagnose but just looking for some reassurance really.

I had something similar, a few years ago, likewise I was worried and Googled all the possibilities, ended up having a full colonoscopy within 2 weeks of an urgent referral by my doctor, which revealed absolutely nothing to worry about. I was reassured although (happily) confused as I was expecting something to be found. Whatever it was which had caused the symptoms had cleared. Your fit test could well come back as negative, but even if it doesn't, it doesn't mean the most awful outcome you could imagine. I hope telling you my experience gives you some reassurance, take care, you're doing the right thing by getting checked out. Good luck.

My mind has gone into overdrive thinking the worse but I guess a high fit could be due to many things?
