To ask makeup artist this

Hello I am going to get my makeup done next week for an upcoming special occasion.
This may seem like a silly question but I’m an over thinker and worry about others feelings a lot. Basically after I have my makeup done I don’t want my picture taken and posted on social media. Is it unreasonable to ask not to have my picture taken and posted or is it rude?

I know it’s their business and they need social media to drum this up but I just feel quite uncomfortable at the thought. Im not on social media am in my mid 40’s and am a bit wrinkly anyway so wouldn’t expect my picture to be posted haha but it was just a thought.

is it rude? Am I being unreasonable ?
thank you

It’s not unreasonable at all. In my experience, these sorts of professionals always ask before taking and sharing photos and you are absolutely entitled to say no.

YANBU.
I was totally put off a personal trainer as he posts ALL his clients progress (with videos of them working out) on instagram. He looked put out when I said I didn't want that and tried to convince me. I didn't take up training with him.

It's absolutely fine to ask this and they should always check with you before taking or using your photo.

However my wedding makeup artist uploaded a photo of me onto social media and it is the most beautiful photo of me I've ever seen, far more flattering than any of the professional photos we paid for. I've had my makeup done by her again since and always ask her to take a photo as I look incredible compared to my normal potato like self. So you might be pleasantly surprised by how good they are at getting a really brilliant photo of their work and making you feel a million dollars in the process :)
