Not an AIBU, just needed a rantTried to solve an issue via their WhatsApp

Never had such rude customer service. Said 'oh I can see you a using a 3rd party router, and has decided this is the problem despite me sending a photo of the f'ing virgin media router provided being used
Then wanted to send an engineer out at a cost of £25 because of the 3rd party router I'm not using
An hour of my life and nothing to show for it!

Honestly? I can barely afford their prices, ( only company that we can get broadband from) let alone £25 on top when the fact is the service is shocking on our housing estate

My Mum died last month. Rang Virgin Media to cancel her contract. The idiot person on the phone wouldn't do a thing because I didn't know Mum's memorable word. I rang back and got someone more sensible and sorted it, but really... !!

Are you sure nobody is using your WiFi? Can you log in and check?

LakieLady · 10/11/2023 16:18

Can you terminate the agreement and switch to another provider? They don't deserve your custom if they can't sort the problem imo, and switching might make them step up.

I had issues with BT a while ago. They fell over themselves being helpful when I said I was so pissed off with it I was minded to cancel, gave me a new router, sent me a new BT tv box in the post, reduced my charges, sent an engineer round, and then, as my area was about to switch from copper to fibre, and rang me a few days after the switch to check that everything was still working ok.

They are worse than awful.

No

We live on a reasonably new estate, and the developers tied into a contact with virgin. BT would need to adopt the lines or something which won't happen unfortunately
