On the bus to work. Guy has taken up more than his share of the seat. So I've done the same. Encroaching on his space. Sharp elbows. Wriggling in the seat to claim my space. Tough.

I’m not sure it’s a sex thing, more of a selfish person thing, but well done. Stake that claim !

I’ve often done it too. I also do teenspreading or stranger walking past me spreading. People don’t seem to notice or care when the only way I could pass them is to walk in the road or in the bush or even stand in a driveway while they pass. It amazes me even after all these years.

Or you could just politely ask him to budge up a little, often works, then if they don't, commence elbow pokes, lol.

Why should she need to remind someone she exists? It’s not like she’s invisible. People need to maintain a basic awareness of the existence of others.

Men - men need to be reminded that she exists.

I went to the theatre last night and the man in the seat next to me was manspreading and didn’t shift. I told him “you’re going to have to move your legs, and we will have to get cosy over the armrest”. He did and I sat comforty altho my arm was rammed up next to him all through. He wasn’t particularly large and spreading due to that, probably just used to thinking his space and mine was all his.

Tbh I rarely see man spreading but women on my nus to work drive me crazy. They take up all. the seats with their numerous bags and glare when you attempt to sit down

Happens all the time here - I use buses a lot.
As for the young women (apparently perfectly fit and mobile, judging from the way they hop on and off the bus like mountain goats) who habitually plonk themselves in the first available seat* (for the elderly, pregnant etc.,) when there are plenty of seats further back. And then are (or pretend to be) so glued to their phones that they don’t notice some decrepit old dear who’s just got on.

*With their bags plonked on the other seat, of course.
I’m sorry to say it’s almost always young women - I’ve hardly ever seen a man of whatever age doing this.
