A divorce question please....

If I file for divorce using a solicitor, does that mean my exh also needs a solicitor?

He is abusive. He wants to just do it online to make it easy (nothing financial to sort).

I think maybe a solicitor is the best option for me to get as much support as possible through the process.

Would he have to get a solicitor too? Would it cost him more to do it like this?

His keenness to avoid a solicitor would be reason enough for me to talk to one. Can you get a free advice session?

Yes I can get free advice, I'm just pretty nervous so looking for advice to try settle my nerves! I'm waiting for a solicitor to get in touch.

In theory, it should be straight forward. I left him 2 years ago. We split our savings equally. We have no joint bank accounts or anything like that.

We have a child together but he's not that interested in seeing him so wouldn't think we need any sort of childcare arrangements. I don't want to push for him to see ds at all.

I have had to call the police on him twice and he is just a nasty piece of work so it's all just quite scary .
