To consider myself in my 30’s

Jumponit77 · 06/11/2023 20:23

I’m born late July 1994 so I said I’m in my 30’s now and was corrected. It’s like people don’t know about rounding up.

OP posts:
pulka · 06/11/2023 21:54

You're not in your 30's though....

Hesma · 06/11/2023 22:10

🙄you’re in your twenties… do you not get numbers????

Fawbs89 · 06/11/2023 22:12

Is this a serious post 😄 🤣 you're 29.

Even South Korea has recently changed their longstanding tradition of considering a baby to be 1 year old at their birth.

I think it's just race horses now, where it continues officially!

In South Korea she would (formerly) actually be 30 Grin

I'm in my real 30s and would laugh at any 29 year old telling me they were too. It's like you're trying to hang out with the cool older kids.

Rounding down would make slightly more sense as the OP is closer to 29 than 30 anyway.

Closer to?

No. OP IS 29.

Ha ha, yep I meant closer to her 29th birthday than her 30th birthday 🤪

Pinkpinkpink15 · 06/11/2023 22:21

Just the ONE post from the OP then.

CherryMyBrandy · 06/11/2023 22:24

Why would you WANT to round your age up? I'm at a stage of life I would definitely not be rounding up, I'd prefer to round down, preferably by a few decades.....

EliflurtleAndTheInfiniteMadness · 06/11/2023 23:23

BrightGreenMoonBuggy · 06/11/2023 20:32

Were you inspired by this? Football fans argue over player’s age

🤣

tiredandolderthanithought · 06/11/2023 23:25

Doyouthinktheyknow · 06/11/2023 20:35

I’m 49, no rounding up around here🤣

It’s nonsense op, you don’t round age up or down, you just see what age you are!

Same! I'm rounding down 🤣🤣🤣

JudgeJ · 06/11/2023 23:30

soscarlet · 06/11/2023 20:24

So, you’re 29? 29 is not 30s 🙄

29 is your 30th year as your first birthday marks the start of your second year .

TheOneWhereWeDontGiveAPhuck · 06/11/2023 23:34

By the time OP comes back they'll be in their 30s at this rate.

blackfluffycat · 06/11/2023 23:42

I'm 39. Not in my 40's yet!!!

BabyPapa · 06/11/2023 23:43

And im in my 20s (im 36)

XenoBitch · 06/11/2023 23:46

When my grandad turned 84, he said he was 21 for the 4th time.

YABU, your age starts with 2, therefore you are in your 20s. I can guarantee you wont be rounding up in such a way in a decade or two.

This reminds of a thread in the Covid board about OP handwringing that her 17 year old son could not get the vaccine because "he was practically 18".

PinkPantherPrat · 06/11/2023 23:47

BabyPapa · 06/11/2023 23:43

And im in my 20s (im 36)

🤣

Oh OP you are 29. I'm 40s and there's no way I would describe myself as 50s...yet!

Interesting though some Chinese count being born as being aged 1. So move to China and then you're bona-fide 30.

Showmethemoneyyy · 06/11/2023 23:52

Are you, and I mean this kindly… quite well?

TeslaTwat · 06/11/2023 23:58

What the fuck. Are you ok hun?

You're as "in your 30s" as you are in your 40s and 50s. You're just simply not.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/11/2023 00:00

You're already a grown up, no need to add that's into your age to seem more grown-up.

HamBone · 07/11/2023 00:03

No, because that means I should be rounding up to 50 and I refuse to!

SweetBirdsong · 07/11/2023 00:05

You're 29. You're in your 20s. You are in your 30th year, but you are in your 20s.

Are you one of these people who thinks the 21st century began on 1st January 2001? 😬 (Usually the covid deniers and flat earthers!)

SweetBirdsong · 07/11/2023 00:06

BabyPapa · 06/11/2023 23:43

And im in my 20s (im 36)

Love your style! Grin

PinkPantherPrat · 07/11/2023 00:08

HamBone · 07/11/2023 00:03

No, because that means I should be rounding up to 50 and I refuse to!

Yay, me too! Actually weirdly enough you tend to forget about age as you get older. You just think "yeah, so?"

The only problem is tickboxes where I have to tick 41-50 and also age calendars where you have to scroll back masses to get your birthdate

APocketOfGooseFood · 07/11/2023 00:13

There’s someone who plops a post like this down semi-regularly, with some batshit age weirdness, and then disappears. I cannot fathom what they get out of it, but they do keep coming back for more.

fuckityfuckityfuckfuck · 07/11/2023 00:15

I think the only time I've rounded up was a week or 2 before a big birthday which put me on the next tick Box up on forms. I figured it would take a week or 2 for the form to be processed so I'd tick the next box.

Otherwise why the hell would you want to be older?? Unless you're a teenager

MassageForLife · 07/11/2023 00:17

I'm trying to decide whether to round down (in my 40's) or round up (in my 60's and I claim my bus pass!)

It's a dilemma... Could I round up to 67 and get my pension too?

(I'm actually in my 50's, in real terms. Not sure what op would have me be, though).
