A mother telling her adult son that it could be “weeks and weeks before you work again “ in response to his temp work drying up. He has chronic illnesses and still at home but works when he can and contributes and helps around the house also. Just listening to my colleague on the phone to him and feel that’s a lot of pressure to put on your son and also very negative. He is trying to find something more permanent and being pro active about this to provide context. I’ve met him myself and he comes across as very kind and considerate. She’s told me he is a great cook and helps a lot. Contributes financially and no money worries within the family to mean that they desperately need his input .

We have worked together for years and her desk is next to mine so kind of unavoidable.

This thread is so crass.

Seriously none of your business and I hope she spots it tbh.

You may have met him, you may work together but you know nothing of what is actually going on or the impact it is having on them all.
