Who has the hearing on?

DS (21) is moaning it’s cold but has his fucking bedroom window open which creates a draft in the whole house. Also leave the bathroom window open every time he goes in there even though there is an extractor fan which comes on with the light.

AIBU to refuse to put the heating on until he shuts the fucking windows?!

Put the heating on if you want to. Don't if you don't. Why does it have to be a race to the bottom with your DS? If he wants his bedroom window open then just keep his door shut and he can put a jumper on when he is in there.

As for bathroom extractors, I don't find them that efficient on their own so we have the window open for a while in addition.

Either way it is pointless having windows open while the heating is on, but windows still need to be opened in winter for ventilation. Putting your heating on doesn't signify the windows shutting until spring.

Ours is on pretty much all day every day at the moment, it's freezing this week. Tell him if he wants the heating on he needs to shut the windows, it's that simple

We've got it on for 3 hours each morning. Our DC tend to wake up at the crack of Dawn if it's not. Other than that we generally aren't putting it on but using log burner and I've got oil radiator in my office!

That would irritate me too. I'm a fresh air fiend and like open windows. But, as it starts to get colder, I only have them open for a couple of hours a day. I'm not paying to heat the street!

Does he have all the other stuff to keep him warm? My 19yo ds is home today. Heating is not on yet. But he has an oodie, heat holder socks and a heated throw.

The heating will come on in a bit ready for the little one when he comes in from school.
