Microwave or Air fryer

Hipnotised · 05/11/2023 20:20

Our microwave has just stopped working and was giving off a burning smell (so definitely needs ditching).

Will replace with either microwave or air fryer as the kitchen isnt big enough for both. Tend to use microwave for reheating/jacket potatoes/the odd ready meal.

YABU - choose air fryer
YANBU - choose microwave

Interested for reasons either way too! TIA.

Panasonic combi microwave. Will cook jacket potaoes, chips, pasties, whatever to perfection with crisp outer. You can also melt butter/chocolate/cheese. I can't think of anything I'd air fry that I can't do in my microwave.

Can I throw another cooking device into the mix. It's called a Remouska and is only available (I think) from Lakeland. I can do a whole roast dinner in it (for 2 cos mine's the smaller of the two), it will bake, casserole, brown everything from sausages, jackets (microwaved first), chicken, sponge puddings, scones. It cooks at a fixed temperature but there ways and means. It's so miserly with electricity too.
