Friend keeps sending me e-mails meant for other people!

The first two or three times she did this I e-mailed her & let her know.

To be fair, the people had names beginning with the same initial as mine & I can see how if she was in a hurry, it would be an easy mistake to make.

As I said, I let her know the first 2 or 3 times but she never even replied to my e-mails to say she had made a mistake or anything!

Between today & yesterday I have got 4 more e-mails from her... I haven't e-mailed her back to let her know as I am a bit annoyed she didn't even acknowldege the last ones I sent her.

The 2 today were replies to other e-mails from people who don't even have the same initial as me so I don't know how that would have worked!

Anyway, she is a girl who was on a course I did 4 years ago & we would exchange e-mails from time to time but I don't have her mobile number or a land line.

One of the e-mails last week was for a job application form & I e-mailed to let her know I got it & not the company she meant it for. She never even replied to me! But then today I get another e-mail meant for the same company saying she wants another form for a friend.... so she must have got her own form (therfore she did get my e-mail re: wrong address.

There was another important e-mail this morning meant for a course director (she always does courses) but it came to me... I don't even want to let her know it came to me, if she hasn't the manners to reply then it's her lookout!

AIBU not to let her know?

How bizarre!!
How on earth does she manage that? I can see the in a hurry/same initial thing (although i'd onlt make that mistake once), but re jobs and courses? that's just strange......

Unfitmother · 10/03/2008 17:58

No, not if you've kept on trying!

squeaver · 10/03/2008 18:06

Why don't you send her one last email with the subject in caps maybe something like - YOU ARE SENDING EMAILS TO ME BY MISTAKE. Then a short note saying this has happened a few times, maybe there's something wrong with your computer (?) but I'm not going to keep letting you know about it.

It doesn't sound like you'll be too bothered about offending her/staying in touch with her anyway.

She sounds flakiy in the extreme!!

branflake81 · 10/03/2008 18:20

Maybe it was a computer error - seems odd she wouldn't reply to you. Maybe she doesnt know it's happening.

WallOfSilence · 10/03/2008 18:40

Hi

The first message I sent her had huge capitals in the subject box! And in the message I suggested she asked one mutual friend if she was getting messages meant for others, as one of the messages was for the mutual friend.

I also suggested she had a virus.

I will send one last e-mail but it's a pain in the ass

Maybe it's going into her junk mail and she doesn't look at that very often.

Greyriverside · 10/03/2008 19:04

I can almost understand the ones with the same initial letter if she is using the address book in outlook express for example. I don't type in email addresses. I type the first letter or two and it autocompletes. Still I think I'd notice if I kept doing it.

tigermoth · 10/03/2008 19:19

Can you phone her or write her a letter?

WallOfSilence · 10/03/2008 19:28

I can't phone or write a letter as I don't have a contact number or address

I have sent her one last e-mail with details of all the e-mails I have received & I asked her to let me know if she got the e-mail. Hopefully she will reply to this one!

I'd block her. If she can't be asked to sort it out, it's her loss.

poodlepusher · 10/03/2008 19:43

yes block her and she'll get an auto reply so she knows to resend correctly

v bad of her not to acknowledge your politenesstho - infuriating i expect!!
