Walk in centre or wait until Monday for GP?

2 weeks ago got a regular ol virus. Sore throat, cough, fever. It went away but cough remained. 2 weeks later (today) chest is making a rumbling noise when I breathe out and breathing is painful. Fever came back last night and this morning and had normalised. Feel like I've been hit by a bus though. Would you wait until Monday? It's more the noise my chest is making and the pain that is quite disconcerting! Nothing I've experienced before.

Walk in centre now. It sounds very similar to when I had pneumonia

ThinWomansBrain · 04/11/2023 20:01

Out of hours GP?
Not sure if they're everywhere though. You basically call up and can make urgent weekend/evening appointments, but not necessarily with your regular GP Practice.
If available in your area here should be contact details on your GPs website.

Savi98 · 04/11/2023 20:58

I felt like that with pneumonia. Let us know @Savi98 how you get on.

Nat6999 · 05/11/2023 05:31

If you don't get anywhere tonight, get to the walk in as soon as they open. It sounds exactly like my pneumonia which if my doctor had come out the first time I rang (I'm housebound) would have cleared up much quicker instead of needing 2 courses of antibiotics & steroids & still not 100% 4 weeks on.

Thanks everyone. This morning my chest is sounding totally normal, rumbling noise has gone but the pain is worse. Sharp pain when I breathe in and out (was just when I breathed in last night). 111 called me back at 3am so I was asleep. Not sure whether to just watch and wait now as it was mainly the chest sounds that were worrying me!

The pain doesn’t sound good. Personally I’d have it checked ASAP.

Finally been seen and have been diagnosed with bronchitis. Amoxicillin and inhaler for the wheezing. To go for an xray if no improvement in 3 days. Thanks everyone!
