i mean, if a wedding is a celebration of love, commitment and family, why ban the most important members of the family [imo] the children?

i honestly can not understand why some people do this? yes children can make noisy and play but so what?

I feel that weddings are about families too. SOme people don't invite children due to cost, some people just don't like children!

Surely people can still have these conversations though?

IMO your weding day is exactly that YOUR wedding and I think that entitles you to invite who you like and not have to justify yourself.

get a grip Chequers if it is a troll ignore it otherwise let her get on with it. If it is a "cc" yaaawwwwwn

I can understand why but wouldn't have gone down that route myself. For me weddings are family ocasions.

Asd I said on the other thread, any couple who decide to exclude children from their wedding must also be prepared to accept that some guests will be unable/unwilling to attend. And on both sdes there should be no hard feeling.

I'm pretty new but I just don't want to post anymore to be laughed at if I answer the "wrong" thread with a serious answer.

Me thinks I'll wait untill all the trolling has died down.

Oh and for the record, not that funny

wildwoman · 10/03/2008 16:52

haven't I?

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 10/03/2008 16:53

because you don't want your exchanging of vows remembered for the fact that your darling nephew humphrey announced 'I've done a poo' in the middle of them.
This topic has been done to death now. Please turn your mind to something more challenging like creating a new and interesting thread.

wannaBe · 10/03/2008 16:57

I didn't have children at my wedding because I could only have 70 guests in the room I hired in the hotel. Between three of my friends alone there were 9 children so that would have meant 4 couples would have been unable to attend.

same if I'd invited all my cousins - a line has to be drawn somewhere.

plus when you don't actually have children your view of them is not the same as when you do.

VictorianSqualor · 10/03/2008 17:11

I typed that and realised what I'd said, so unlike me.

2shoes · 10/03/2008 17:12

Oh not another bored namechanger

Lauriefairycake · 10/03/2008 17:13

Thought I'd respond cantankerously and in the spirit of the OP
