Fed up of the smell

This is probably going to make me sound awful but my upstairs neighbour is driving me insane. Every bloody day, all day, she's smoking weed. The smell is driving me mad. I can't go out in my garden or open my windows. The smell just leaks in every window or door and I have two young children. Is there anything I can do about this? I generally stay out of things but this is starting to really eff me off.

There is an article in the guardian today about a guy who killed himself after dealing with unbearable noise from his upstairs neighbour. I think gradually these kind of things will be taken more seriously. I wound keep reporting to the council. It’s anti social behaviour which is making your life a misery.

It's not just a smell though, it's second hand smoke. 2nd and even 3rd hand smoke has been proven to be more dangerous for your health than actually smoking. A quick google shows it is unlawful. I'm not sure where you live so it may vary. You can search here: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/

Your council probably has an anti social behaviour team, I'd try that.

Social services may not be hugely interested now, but they will be if she carries on once the baby is born. I assume she has no other kids?

Is it rented?

I’d contact the landlord.

I’m pretty sure you’re not even allowed to smoke cigarettes in some places, especially private rented places.

Just keep reporting her, to SS and the police. At the very least, they have to log the allegations. It builds up.
