To feel a bit embarrassed

We have lived in our rented property for 4 years. No issues. We rent through a letting agent and have no direct contact with landlord.

Today I got a call from the letting agent to say the landlord has reported driving past quite often and the curtains and blinds are closed and wanted them to check in.

I do keep them closed a lot, either because I'm working upstairs in the spare room and haven't been downstairs yet (bathroom is upstairs) husband leaves Early and takes dog for a wee. Or I am working downstairs in the afternoon and have them closed to stop dog barking at every bird and squirrel. We are in and out walking dog 3 times a day inbetween.

Do you think he was worried we had done a runner maybe? I felt a bit embarrassed but I don't know why!!

I think he was asking for a welfare check.

Probably paranoid you're growing weed in there.

Honestly though it's a bit invasive. Presumably the letting agent checks in now and then with inspections etc and your rent is always paid on time.

I work nights so my curtains are nearly always closed!
