so about 10 days ago I had a horrible thrombosed pile who ended up bursting and scabbing over . I went to the GP twice as it was painful and the second time I wanted her to have a look to make sure it was on its way to heal. She referred to me a hot clinic and she did not have a look herself. I went yesterday. The doctor said they can take up to 6/ 8 weeks to resolve so just to basically wait for it to heal. He also said they will referred me for a sigmoidoscopy because any PR bleed can’t be dismissed and it’s routine .
anyway they just called me to go on Thursday and I asked if I could have it done in6-8 weeks when things are more settled and not as painful.
I had one a few years back and you do have to have an enema which then causes quite forcefull bowel moment ( sorry TMI) and at the moment it’s still quite sore as it is . AIBU?
I feel awful as I do take my health very seriously, but I just feel it’s gonne make things even worse . If I hadn’t had this pile I wouldn’t have had any other reason to see a GP and the bleeding is coming from the extrernal pile where the skin stretched and broke .
I feel really bad about asking for it to be postponed and I’m also worried they will now lose my referral forever . But then the doctor yesterday said that they could band the piles during the camera test , but only once the thrombosed as resolved which is not gonna be in 2 days .
what do you think ?
I have never ever skipped or questioned an appointment ever , the lady wasn’t very nice on the phone . She sounded very annoyed.
