We have been battered by the winds overnight and early morning and its supposed to be worse just after lunch, yet the school trip has not been cancelled, its an hour drive there, and its at the top of a hill on a castle.

I'm not sure they should have cancelled, unless it's a trip to a beach on the south coast. Depends where you are, I suppose.

crazylife · 10/03/2008 10:22

on the south coast lol

I am sure they would have taken advice from the castle.

edam · 10/03/2008 10:25

you have got me there - are they going anywhere near a beach? Maybe they should have cancelled after all!

posieflump · 10/03/2008 10:26

presumably you have paid for the trip?
maybe they wouldn't have been able to get a refund?

burstingbug · 10/03/2008 10:27

Are they off to Corfe castle?

Imawurzel · 10/03/2008 10:28

Wouldn't like to be there today if it is corfe!!
I don't even wanna go to town.

burstingbug · 10/03/2008 10:30

Hi Wurz, long time no see. Congrats on your pink bundle

I am sure that the school have taken everything into consideration - school trips are a nightmare re H&S as it is.

If they'd have cancelled you can guarantee other parents would have grumbled that way too, plus the school would have had a whole load of very disappointed children to deal with.

Dd is off on a trip to a farm tomorrow. We are sending wellies and raincoats. I would be very, very surprised if they cancelled.

Now if it was rock-climbing, or along a river bank or something yes, top of a hill, can't see a problem unless roads are blocked.
