Cannabis

I live in a city centre.

Whilst waking around I'm more regularly able to smell cannabis.

My teenage son has said that it's really quite normal now and most of his friends smoke it.

This frightens the life out of me as I worry about County Lines etc.

Do I need to chill out and accept this is how things are now, or subtly keep an eye on things with my son?

They need to legalise it. Its an extra source of income that is needed in deprived towns, could revitalise places like Blackpool that people go for hen dos etc.

Eliminate county lines and free up police time all in one.

I agree, the money they could make with regulation could go some way to making up for the financial & human cost of years of 'the war on drugs', which let's face it, hasn't made a jot of difference.

I don't think it's more common now then it ever was.

It's just weed. I don't think it's a big deal even if the smell is pretty obnoxious.

Considering your son is saying his friends all smoke it I would be talking to him about safety and harm reduction if he happens to try it. The vast majority of kids smoking weed are not getting involved in country lines especially if they have had parents who have approached it reasonably, calmly, and with harm reduction not "drugs are bad mmmk"
