NC. DD 20 has clot on the right lung which was diagnosed 6 weeks and has been on thinners for. On Wednesday, she ended up back in a&e due to having chest pain that was in her upper back too . DR said bloods were fine and chest x ray was clear, but when listening to her heart he heard a systolic heart murmur. DR said it was probably new and she had her heart checked out numerous times when clot first came. He wrote to GP for them to investigate. She has a GP call Monday. However, tonight she says the pain is really bad again she has rang 111 and waiting for call back but should I just take her back to a&e. She said the pain is worse but hesitant to go back to a&e as unsure what they will find as on weds xray clear and blood tests fine.

Ah ok, I’m not medically trained or anything like that but I was in the unfortunate position of my mum having lots of blood clots and thinking I would always ask for a ct scan if I was in that position again so just wanted to pass that on.
shes in the best place now and is absolutely not wasting anybody’s time, I hope that they find out what is causing the pain soon and they can fix it.

My grandmother was on blood thinners and still got one on her lungs. This was 35 years ago though, so I hope things are better these days.

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your mum. Same I'm not medically either and would think Ct scan makes sense but they basically said it probably wouldn't show them anything new x

They have said they don't think another clot but potentially the clot could have caused so damage to heart.

Go back to A&E- don’t take any risks with chest pain or past history of clots.

This please.
My poor godmother died alone from a blood clot in March and the police had to break the door down. Post mortum said it would have been quick. Get DD the help she needs if she needs it. Poor girl!
