Anyone else plagued by little flies?

Where are they coming from? They’re everywhere - my house is clean, deep cleaner kitchen yesterday and no clue why I’m being overwhelmed by the bastards.

Anyone else??

Thank you at Fishfingersandchipsagain for the advise. Your user name has made me crave fish fingers and chips. Did you see the price of fish fingers now, shocked. Will check plant tomorrow.

AutumnLeaves333 that was quite the find, all you can do is laugh really but bet it was manky. Must have a look at my plant soil tomorrow and see if I can see anything, not sure what I am going to be looking for.

It was absolutely disgusting, but I was actually relieved to find the source because I had turned my house upside looking for hidden mouldy fruit and I was starting to get quite upset by the amount of fruit flies that kept appearing day after day! Once the banana is was removed it was quite easy to get rid of the rest of them!

We have had so many this year I HATE THEM
we put an inch of white wine vinegar in a cereal bowl, covered it with cling film with small holes in it. They get through the holes then can’t get out. Kept changing the bowls for week or so. Covered up all food and kept fruit in the fridge. Finally they are getting low in numbers…
they also loved the coffee machine for some reason so I clingfilmed over the bean dispenser.

Nope because I got my trusty pot out, put some apple cider vinegar in it, added a dash of fairy liquid, stirred it and left it in the general vicinity of said flies. Next day, several drowned flies and no more hanging around.

Oh and I know it's not fungus flies because I have a cat and don't do living plants.

I've noticed these in my bathroom

We get them in summer around the fruit usually but this year there were tons, but outside on the wall of our house!! They disappeared as quickly as they came!
