I've had an issue with sleep since I was a teenager.
I'd say for the last 2 years it's really ramping up again.
My Dad is the same and we often joke aboit how much sleep we have although it's not funny and were exhausted.
I can get off to sleep pretty well, and then I will wake up anytime from 11pm usually I'll be awake sometimes until 5am.
When I wake my heart races, and I tend to not feel great during this time, I become very hot and restless, sometimes I feel sick and have been sick, my mind races with continous images flash backs and random memories. I try to stay calm and I'll go to the sofa, go for a wee have a little sip of water and try to reset but it never works.
I've tried everything over the years, nothing seems to work. Tonight is another night, I was super tired today lots of walking and went to sleep well but now I'm wide awake although I can't stop yawning and desperately want to sleep.
I'm just wondering if anyone else suffers and if anyone else has found anything that works.
