Help, problem after surgery

Hi

not sure why I’m posting on here or if anyone can help but I’m worried sick here

I had surgery on Friday to lower my hairline because I had an extremely big forehead. I saved and paid a fortune for it but it’s something I’ve always wanted and it was worth it.

but now I’m worried sick because it hurts so, so much and it feels so tight and I’m scared it will always be like this. They said it’s normal for it to hurt for a while afterwards and it’s definitely improving from the first/second day which was particularly bad. But my entire head feels so tight. In total 1.7cm of skin was removed and the hairline pulled down and it was stitched with soluble stitches but I won’t be able to take off the bandage and actually see it properly for another week. But it hurts so, so much and feels so tight and awful. They said it should improve as the swelling improves but I’ve just got myself worried that it wont and it will always feel this horrible tight way

does anyone know anything about surgery? Does skin eventually feel like normal when it’s been stretched and stitched? I’ve never had anything like this before so it’s all new to me but I’ve got myself so worried about it all

You need to speak to your consultant or go, and get their advice. Maybe get some stronger painkillers.

Please speak to your surgeon and if you are worried ask to go and see them

No offence but if you have had 1.7 cm of your scalp removed and then pulled down to stitch up, I am not surprised it feels very tight. I would have expected them to stretch your skin first by using a bladder type device they slowly inflate over a number of weeks by injecting saline.

I believe they are correct overtime your skin will stretch and stop hurting.

As pp have said a quick phone call to your surgeon should put your mind at rest.

Surely the whole area is swollen which is adding to the tightness?
