NC just because I don’t want it tied to my actual UN.

AIBU to take the day off work? I had to call in sick this morning as I’d been up all night with worry about upcoming operations and biopsies. I’ve been having some medical issues for a few months now, and my job is aware of them and the potential sinister nature of the issues (very low chance, but low isn’t no). Management were really nice, asking if there was anything they could do to help as they’re aware of the situation.

Tbh, I’ve been managing pretty well, only taking time off that’s medically cleared and recommended by doctors, and I’ll have to take some time off after my operations too, but I just couldn’t face work today. I’m in a very public facing role and just couldn’t perform to the best of my ability what with everything bogging me down. My last day off was in August, after an appointment that did not go well.

AIBU to take the day off today? Is it bad form?

We can't answer that really, can we. If you can honestly say to your employer you can't cope with work today, then obviously you can't go in.

Your health, as well as your mental health comes first. Don't give it any more thought. Wishing you all the best x

Your work will be fine without you for a day, and sounds like you’ll really benefit from having one day off to take it all in and reset.
