To earn less but get weekends off..

I have 2 young kids and have been working every weekend and bank holiday since my youngest was 6 months old. I've got the chance of a 2 day week job with no weekends, but would mean paying childcare 1 day and coming home with slightly less.

AIBU to change jobs?

I definitely would swap

Not BU, at all.

I made a similar swap, from unsociable hours and every weekend/holiday, to a standard 9-5. At the time, it was about a 12k pay cut, but the difference it made to my life was worth every penny. I've never looked back (and I now massively out earn what I did at the previous job, so it's worked out even better)

As long as you can still pay your bills, buy food etc, I would. You will never get this time with your kids again.

I would. My husband used to work weekends and him swapping to a mon-fri job has changed our life. There’s more to life than money.

Definately. Once they get to a certain age you will need weekends off for sporting activities particularly. Football matches for example.
