If you love your grandchildren more than your children?

No it’s completely different. I still have my adult children somewhere on my mind every day and obviously part of that involves thinking about their own children.
I love all of the little ones they have produced but I’ve never been totally responsible for them like I have been for the ones I gave birth to if that makes sense.
I love looking after them, watching them develop their own personalities without all of the day to day worries that one’s own children bring. It’s a different love and hard to explain.
I don’t get the obsession some grandparents have ( that I’ve read about on mumsnet - I’ve never come across it in real life!) with wanting to “ own” their grandchildren.

No this makes perfect sense. My mum looks after my 2 when I'm at work so she definitely had caring responsibilities but it's all so fun and I don't ever recall her having the time or patience she has with them, with me. She is absolutely besotted with them and regularly tells them so. But I don't ever recall being told I was loved as a kid.

(I'm not complaining FYI, I think their relationship is beautiful)

My children are, with my husband, the most important people in my life. I love my grandchildren because they are part of my children.

Yes that’s how I feel
