"They should be measured every 4-6 weeks"

This is ridiculous, right? No-one measures their child's feet every 4 - 6 weeks, surely? And the accompanying article actually says to measure every 8 -12 weeks.

Is it just click bait by mumsnet? I guess it worked, I don't even have young kids and I guessed it was shoes and clicked because it seemed so unlikely!

I think 8 weeks is reasonable tbh (not that I always managed that). And w my kids there were certainlyquite a few occasions that shoes that fitted before the summer holidays didn't fit in September which I guess is 6 weeks. That said the most insane rates of foot growth happened when they were teenagers and were perfectly capable of telling me their shoes didn't fit.

My daughter pretends that her shoes fit because she hates getting new ones, so even though she is perfectly capable of telling me they are too small, she doesn’t

It takes two seconds to check their shoes fit them - check at top and back of heel. If it is less than half a thumb nail time to get them properly measured - you can buy them online cheaply. Badly fitted shoes impact on foot development so I always keep an eye.
